Here is my very 1st tutorial for the Baby Bib card using the Pick-a-Petal Brass Template.
Card Base: 8.5×5.5
Wide Grosgrain ribbon to match your color scheme
Pick a Petal Brass Template
Stamps and Ink
Various punches for Embellishing
A pencil and a ruler
Step 1: Fold your card stock in half. With the fold at the top, make small pencil marks on each side of the card 1-3/8″ down from the fold. Make a pencil mark on the bottom edge at 2-3/4″ (halfway)
Step 2: Line a scallop from the brass template up with the center mark at the bottom of the card and another scallop on the brass template at the 1-3/8″mark on the side of the card. Trace the scallops.
Step 6: Hand cut the scallops to create the basic bib shape. Try to make your cuts clean and neat, but don’t worry if your cuts are not 100% perfect. The sponging in a later step will hide any imperfections.
Step: 7 Using the circle coluzzle tool (3rd groove in), cut the neck of the bib. I made a small pencil mark on the card base at 2-3/4″ (half way) so it was easy to center. You can see the very faint pencil mark in the picture.
Step 12: Embellish your baby Bib. I added a ribbon tie on the right and a button on the left. I used the Giraffe from Wild About You for the front and stamped it in the darker in color. the 1-3/8″ circle punch is in card stock to match the lighter color
The more I play with this Pick-a-petal Brass Template the more I like it! Besides the bibs, I have used it for a Convention swap card (to be posted soon), the clock from yesterdays post and I have a few other ideas in my head. Lots of crafty uses for this!
