Dashing 3×3 Gift Card Holder

So I have been busy, busy, busy preparing for my card buffet this weekend. Thank you to all my friends that are coming this weekend to stamp and thank you to my friends who purchased the class through the mail.

So while I was preparing the money holders for all the ladies who rsvp’d by the deadline, I manage to both cut and score 16 of them incorrectly. yes 16 wasted pieces of paper- SU expensive old olive card stock!!!! Because, like any good papercrafter, I can not throw any scrap away-even mess ups I found a good use for them.

This Pouch can hold 4 3×3 note cards and envelopes. Here is how it happened….

The specs for the Original Money holder : 8×7, scored at 2 1/2 and 6 when the 8″ side is at the top of the scoring tool.

For some reason I thought they were different: The specs for this one: 9×7, scored at 2 1/2″ and 7″ when the 9″ side is at the top of the scoring tool.

These make cute gifts! Not a bad save!

The scrap from the trimming of the good money holders you get a 3″ strip that can trimmed for a 3×3 note card. I used those Olive scraps and then created red 3×3’s to match the dashing paper. I used my round tab punch to punch a circle window. I then layered the punched pieces plus a scallop and circle punches and the Merry & Bright stamp set. Tutorial can be found here for the tab punch circle technique. All I can say is practice, its not that easy to line up that 2nd punch which then turns into more wasted paper!
