Sealed by Spellbinders- Part 2

My New Sealed by Spellbinders Wax Seal Starter Kit has arrived! This kit is super cool and so much fun! I have 4 cards to share today.

Here is my Instagram reel to give you a quick unboxing and show you how it works. There are full instructions in the kit. All you need is a tea light and a lighter.

This card in the reel was also the first card I made. These fun Postage Edge Shapes by Becca Feeken slimline dies are new too. More on those to come.

Take a closer look. I paired the wax with Sealed Berry Sprig Etched Dies  and it’s so beautiful:

Here are a few Wax Seal tips:

After making 3 attempts to wax seal the cute stems, here is what I learned

— Don’t over heat your wax. If its bubbling it’s too hot.

— Use 3-4 wax beads. I used 5 on my 1st attempt and it was too much wax. Use 4 one the 1st heat and then 3 after was perfect as there was still some wax left in the spoon.

— Practice on a piece of scratch cardstock. The 1st wax I poured was too hot (and too much wax) and warped the cardstock.

— Leave the wax seal stamp on the hot wax and wait for it to cool a bit. This drastically reduced the cardstock warping.

— It’s very cool to wax seal right on the paper but if you mess up you have to completely start over. pretty time consuming ( I die cut all new pieces) after making the above card 3 times

— If you are looking for card embellishments, it’s perfectly fine to make a bunch of wax seals on the rubber mat and then glue them to your card. This is my personal preference.

When using the wax seals I prefer to keep the card very clean and simple. I want the wax to be the star of the card.

Of course I added to my wax seal order! Pastel Pink Wax Beads and white wax beads and 2 stamps: Mandala Wax Seal Stamp and the Sweet Happy Birthday Wax Seal Stamp. I already had the dies, I used them on this post.

This seal was made on the rubber mat and glued to the card and you can’t tell the difference! Oh and I love that it is a note card for any occasion. Mandala Wax Seal Stamp for the win!

Also wax seals and 3-d embossing folders pair very well together. I recommend adding the metallic markers to you order to add some highlights to the wax. I did not and wish I had them. FYI: Copics do not color on wax.

Here is my fourth and final card for today. I love them all but this one is my favorite!
