a very late color challenge

These were for the Sage shadow, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip color challenge ( CC168) on Splitcoaststampers last week.  I made them and forgot to take the picture and post.  I also did the Try a new technique challenge, which was a box with a 3×3 card and envelopes.  Those I hope to post this week.  All Supplies are Stampin’ Up! unless noted.

and an alternate version….I left the sentiment off this one so I could use it for any occasion.  Maybe a Sympathy card seems to fit the bill.

Eastern Elegance & SCS color challenge

I was saving these big flower rub-ons from the Eastern Elegance set for just the right card. I wasn’t really sure what to do with them until I saw this card by Nancy Riley, who cased it from Jacki Pedro. Not only did I find a great way to use these I also found a good reason to use my pearls from the Pretties kit. this color combo follows the color challenge from Splitcoast 2 weeks ago using Pomegranate, soft sky and black. I really like how these turned out and they look way better in real life! Thanks Nancy & Jackie for the great idea!

Wonderful You Birthday

Here is another card I made playing with the brayered sky technique and Emboss resist. For this one I stamped the flowers, colored them pink, then re-colored them with the versamarker (very carefully in the lines) and then they were clear embossed. After all these steps I brayered a few shades of blue (soft sky, bashful and blue bayou) to make the sky and wiped the ink off the flowers. Then I stamped the leaves and colored them with an artichoke marker. the cuttlebug background is tone on tone.

Recipe:
Stamps: Wonderful You, retired hostess label set
Ink: various shades of blue, black
Paper: soft Sky, glossy white card stock, regal rose
accessories: brayer, cuttlebug, styled silver hardware, wide grosgrain ribbon, designer label punch, slot punch

Dear Fellow Stampers:

WARNING: I have been playing with a lot of my non-Stampin’ Up stamps. For those of you that follow my blog for SU creations– please stay tuned & we will return to our regular scheduled programs after a few more posts. For those that do (or do not) want to be enabled…you are officially WARNED. (insert evil grin here)

This is Dress Up Lily. I found her from a link that my friend Elisabeth sent me regarding an adorable Poodle set. Knowing that I have 2 standard Poodles in the house, I just has to check it out. Here are the Poodles…. and here is the Dress Up Lily. and be sure to check out the entire website of Pink Cat Studio. Each set has a gallery! and I also have found through blog surfing that there are some really cute creations on Lauren Meader’s Blog as well. I bought this Lily for my daughter. She can dress her up any way she wants when she stamps with me. We made this card together for one of her girlfriends birthday. She picked the colors and accessories, I stamped and assembled. Sometimes she makes her own cards for parties, but for this one we were short on time. Notice the striped dress? all my daughter’s design, which is pretty good since she’s only 5!

Recipe:

Stamps: Dress Up Lily from Pink Cat Studios, hand made oval stamp

Ink: black

Paper: Amethyst, pretty in pink and soft sky

Accessories: cuttlebug birthday, white ribbon, markers and blender pens for coloring, dazzling diamond so she sparkles!
