this weekend….

I spent Friday Evening at a local Church for a “Caring for Self Day”. there were all kinds of FUN things for the ladies (and men) to do Like massage, reflexology, paraffin hand wax, spa treatments, journal writing and of course stamping! I had them make two simple 1 layer cards (I’ll share pictures later of these) and I made about 150 of these cute Tea bag holders for the goodie bags!

the poem is printed from my computer (found on Splitcoast). I used the Petal card die to make the pocket with retired prints pack paper in Apricot. I layered with Night of Navy and stamped in Rich Razzleberry. Stamps were Flight of the Butterfly, Oval all, Hello Again.

I met some wonderful ladies and I had fun stamping with them!!! Im looking forward to next year!!!

Scallop Bag Tutorial

I have to admit I tried to do this as a video– but I could not get past the sticky strip!  So I took pictures instead.  I do have a video in the works though.  I need to learn how to edit them so you can’t see the mistakes!

Some of you wonderful ladies have emailed me about the Bag with scallop that was part of my Valentines class.  Here is a “how to” on the assembly of this cute bag.  We made this one at one of my recent workshops too.  The only “precaution” is the very faint score lines.

This is the delicate dots sale-a-bration paper.  These are the pieces that are from the scallop bag die for the Big shot.  I wanted the blue on the outside of the bag and the green on the inside so you will see how I flip the paper when putting the bag together.  Can you see the score lines?  I folded them- they are very faint when coming through the big shot.

Add some sticky strip to the short tabs

Attach them to the center panel as shown
Add sticky strip to the long tabs:

Adhere the box panels together:

Pinch the top of the bag:

Fold the scallop lid over top, still pinching:

Punch 2 large holes with your crop-a-dile:

Tie with ribbon. The celery panel is 2″ x 3″ and the white is just slightly smaller

Decorate the front as shown:

Finish the bag by attaching the panel to the front.

This bag hold 5 Hershey Nuggets or 8 Hershey kisses.  CUTE!!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Polka Dot punches, All Holidays

Paper: Delicate dots, Celery and whisper white

Ink: celery and bashful blue

Accessories:  the crop-a-dile, sale-a-bration ribbon bundle, 5 petal flower punch, Flower fusion too, rhinestone brad, sticky strip.

And for those that had questions about my Holiday photo pull out card….

the base is old Olive and measures 9-1/4 x 4

the Riding Hood Red layer measures 9-1/4 x 3-7/8. I punched this with the scallop edge punch. After punching it measures 9 x 3 7/8

The kraft Envelope is from Stampin Up. its the small open ended ones (item # 110695)

I embossed the edge with a small snowflake with white embossing powder and versamark.

I traced the envelope flap and covered it with designer paper.

The eyelets are set in 3/4 inch circle punch outs with dimensionals underneath them. I tucked the linen thread under the dimensional before adhering so it was adhered.

All of these mail in a standard #10 size business envelope. I have a box of 500 or so from Staples. mine have the peel and stick closure- no licking involved!

The inside measures: 6-1/8 by 3-3/8. I trimmed my 4×6 holiday photo to fit on this panel.
