To My Beastie

Not going to Lie– these Yeti beasts are so much fun!  I thought it would be fun to share a how I made the background and showcase that fun new Four Seasons tree die!

But 1st a GOOD SALE– 5 days of deals at Spellbinders FSJ:  Click the images to shop.

Now on to the card.  Here is the finished card with the tree and the adorable Yeti.

BB Beast Friends, Stamp with Jill, MFT

I started the background with some ink blending and regular Distress inks on whip cream card stock. (not distress oxides)  I just bought a bunch of these little ink cubes and wanted to play more with them.   FYI You can also use FSJ Fusion ink for blending.  They are pretty similar for blending.

As you can see from the picture above the color is REALLY VIBRANT.  Too much for the design I had in mind.  You can also see its really bright next to the sample.  (and also upside down!)

Instead of making a whole new background with different ink colors I decided to tone it down.  White Pan pastels to the rescue with a thin layer over top.  A perfect way to mute the color just a bit!

I used this background on this card HERE with the tree.  LOVE the purples and the blues together for winter.
